Theyyacharithram
മന്ത്ര മൂര്‍ത്തികള്‍: മന്ത്രവാദികളും മറ്റും പൂജിക്കുകയും മന്ത്രോപസാന നടത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്ന ദേവതകളെയാണ് മന്ത്ര മൂര്‍ത്തികള്‍ എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്. ഭൈരവാദി പഞ്ച മൂര്‍ത്തികള്‍ ഇവരില്‍ പ്രശസ്തരാണ്. ഭൈരവന്‍, കുട്ടിച്ചാത്തന്‍, പൊട്ടന്‍ തെയ്യം, ഗുളികന്‍, ഉച്ചിട്ട എന്നിവരാണ് ഈ ദേവതകള്‍. ഇതിനു പുറമേ കുറത്തിയും മന്ത്രമൂര്‍ത്തിയാണ്. കുഞ്ഞാര്‍ കുറത്തി, പുള്ളുക്കുറത്തി, മലങ്കുറത്തി, തെക്കന്‍ കുറത്തി, എന്നിങ്ങനെ പതിനെട്ടു തരം കുറത്തിമാരുണ്ടെങ്കിലും ഇതില്‍ ചിലതിനു മാത്രമേ കെട്ടികോലമുള്ളൂ. കണ്ടാകര്‍ണനെയും ചിലര്‍ മന്ത്ര മൂര്‍ത്തിയായി ഉപാസിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്.
കുരുതിക്ക് ശേഷം അഗ്നിയില്‍ ചവിട്ടി ശരീര ശുദ്ധി വരുത്തുന്ന തെയ്യങ്ങളെ നമുക്ക് കാണാന്‍ കഴിയും. അത് പോലെ കത്തിജ്വലിക്കുന്ന തീയ് വിഴുങ്ങിക്കാട്ടുന്ന കുണ്ടോറ ചാമുണ്ഡിയുടെ ഇളംകോലവും, തീക്കൊട്ട കയ്യിലേന്തി നൃത്തമാടുന്ന കുട്ടിച്ചാത്തനെയും വെളിച്ചണ്ണ തുള്ളികള്‍ തീത്തുള്ളികളായി കയ്യിലേറ്റ് വാങ്ങുന്ന ഭൈരവനും കത്തുന്ന മേലേരിയില്‍ ഇരിക്കുന്ന ഉച്ചിട്ട തെയ്യവും ഭക്തന്‍മാരില്‍ അതിശയം ജനിപ്പിക്കുന്ന തെയ്യങ്ങളാണ്‌. ഒരാള്‍പൊക്കത്തില്‍ തയ്യാറാക്കിയ കനല്‍ കൂമ്പാരത്തില്‍ നൂറ്റൊന്ന് വട്ടം എടുത്തു ചാടുന്ന ഒറ്റക്കോലവും (തീച്ചാമുണ്ടി) കനലില്‍ കിടന്ന് പരിഹാസ രൂപേണ കാര്യങ്ങള്‍ ഉച്ചത്തില്‍ വിളിച്ചു പറയുന്ന പൊട്ടന്‍ തെയ്യവും നൂറ്റൊന്ന് കോല്‍ത്തിരികള്‍ തിരുമുടിയിലും പതിനാറ് പന്തങ്ങള്‍ അരയിലും ചൂടി നൃത്തമാടുന്ന കണ്ടാകര്‍ണനെയും ഉലര്‍ത്തി കത്തിച്ച തീ നടുവിലൂടെ പല പ്രാവശ്യം പാഞ്ഞുറയുന്ന കണ്ടനാര്‍ കേളന്‍ തെയ്യവും കൈനഖങ്ങളില്‍ ഓരോന്നിലും തീത്തിരി കത്തിച്ചു കളിയാടുന്ന പുള്ളിഭഗവതിയും എല്ലാം അഗ്നിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ദൈവങ്ങളാണ്.
ഒടയില്‍ നാല് കൂറ്റന്‍ കെട്ടുപന്തങ്ങള്‍ കത്തിയെരിയിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് നൃത്തമാടുന്ന പുതിയ ഭഗവതിയുടെ വട്ടമുടിയിലും കോല്‍ത്തിരികള്‍ കത്തുന്നത് കാണാം. ഒടയില്‍ കുത്തിനിറുത്തിയ തീപന്തങ്ങളാണ് നരമ്പില്‍ ഭഗവതിക്കും കക്കരപ്പോതിക്കും കുളങ്ങരഭഗവതിക്കും ജ്ഞാന സ്വരൂപിണിയായി പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്ന സമയത്ത് രണ്ടു ചെറുപന്തങ്ങള്‍ കൈയിലേന്തിയാണ് മുച്ചിലോട്ട് ഭഗവതി വരിക. തൊണ്ടച്ചന്‍ തെയ്യത്തിനു മുളഞ്ചൂട്ടും മറ്റു തെയ്യങ്ങളായ ഗുളികന്‍ തെയ്യവും, പൂതം തെയ്യവും കത്തിച്ചു പിടിച്ച ചൂട്ടുകളും ഉപയോഗിക്കുമ്പോള്‍ കരിവെള്ളൂരിലെ തെയ്യങ്ങളായ പൂളോനും പുതിച്ചോനും ഒന്നിലധികം പേര് കത്തിച്ചു പിടിക്കുന്ന പന്നിചൂട്ടുകള്‍ ഉപയോഗിക്കുന്നു. എന്നാല്‍ കതിവന്നൂര്‍ വീരന്‍, പെരുമ്പുഴയച്ചന്‍ തെയ്യങ്ങള്‍ക്ക് നൂറ്റിയൊന്ന് കോല്‍ത്തിരികള്‍ ചേര്‍ന്നുള്ള വാഴപ്പോളകള്‍ കൊണ്ട് തീര്‍ത്ത കമനീയമായ കോല്‍ത്തിരി തറകളുണ്ടാവും. കതിവന്നൂര്‍ വീരന്‍ തെയ്യത്തിന്റെ ചെമ്മരത്തി തറയും കൂടിയാണിത്.
അഗ്നിയില്‍ നിന്ന് പാതിരാവില്‍ ഉയിര്‍ത്ത് വന്ന എരുവാച്ചിയമ്മയാണ് വേലര്‍ കെട്ടിയാടുന്ന തീയേന്തി നൃത്തമാടുന്ന ചുടല ഭദ്രകാളി. കണ്ണങ്ങാട്ട് ഭഗവതിയുടെ ഇളംകോലത്തിന്റെ പേര് തന്നെ തീപ്പാറ്റ എന്നാണു. കാവിനു ചുറ്റും ഒരുക്കിയ ചെറിയ ചെറിയ മേലേരിയുടെ മേലെ കൂടി ഒറ്റ ചിലമ്പും കുലുക്കി ഈ തെയ്യം കാവിന് ചുറ്റും പാഞ്ഞോടുകയാണ് ചെയ്യുക.
Mantra Murthys:
Mantra Murthys are deities who are worshiped by magicians etc. and perform Mantropasana. Bhairavadi Pancha Murthys are famous among them. These deities are Bhairavan, Kuttichathan, Potan Theyam, Gulikan and Uchitta. Apart from this, Kurathi is also Mantramurti. Although there are eighteen types of Kurathis such as Kunjar Kurathi, Pullukurathi, Malankurathi, Southern Kurathi, only some of these have a tie. Kandakarna is also worshiped by some as Mantra Murti.
After the kuruti we can see the Theiyas purifying their bodies by stepping on the fire. Like that, Kundora Chamundi's pale kolam swallowing burning fire, Kuttichatan dancing with fire in his hand, Bhairavan taking coconut oil drops as fire drops in his hands and Uchitta Theiya sitting on a burning malleri are the Theiyas that create wonder among the devotees. Kandakarna, who jumps one hundred and one laps on a pile of coals prepared by one person, Potan Theiyam lying on the coals and shouting ridiculous things, Kandakarna dancing with one hundred and one kolthiris in his hair and sixteen torches on his waist, and Kandanar Kelan Theiyam running several times through the lit fire and a torch in each of his claws. Puliphagavati who plays with it and everything related to Agni are gods.
Kolthiris can also be seen burning in the round hair of the new Bhagwati, who dances with four huge knotted balls burning in the Oda. Bhagavathy comes to Muchilot with two small balls in her hand when she appears as Jnana Swarupini to Narambi Bhagavathy, Kakkarapothi and Kulangara Bhagavathy, who are fireballs stuck in the Oda. While Thondachan Theiyam uses Mulanchut and other Theiyams like Gulikan Theiyam, Putham Theiyam and burnt chutes, the Theiyams of Karivellur, Pullon and Putichon, use pig chutes which are lit by multiple people. But Kathivannur Veeran and Perumpuzhayachan Theiyams have beautiful kolthiri floors made of banana planks with one hundred and one kolthiris. It is also the chemmaratti floor of Kativannur Veeran Theiyat.
Chutala Bhadrakali, who dances around the velar tied fire, is Eruvachiamma who rose from the fire in the early morning. The name of Kannangat Bhagwati's pale kolam is Theepatta. Shake a single chilam on top of the small meleri arranged around the kavin and run this Theiyam around the kavin.
