ഉര്‍വര ദേവതകള്‍:
കാര്‍ഷിക സംസ്ക്കാരവുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട ദേവതകളെയാണ് ഉര്‍വര ദേവതകള്‍ എന്ന് പറയുന്നത്. കാലിച്ചേകോന്‍, ഉച്ചാര്‍ തെയ്യങ്ങള്‍ (പുലിതെയ്യങ്ങള്‍) ഗോദാവരി (കോതാമൂരി) എന്നിവയാണ് ഉര്‍വര ദേവതകള്‍. വണ്ണാന്‍മാരുടെ കാലിച്ചേകോന്‍ പശുപാലകനും പുലയരുടെ കാലിച്ചേകോന്‍ കൈലാസത്തില്‍ നിന്ന് ഭൂമിയിലേക്കിറങ്ങി വന്ന ദേവതയുമാണത്രെ. ഇത് കൂടാതെ കുറത്തി, തൊരക്കാരത്തി, കലിയന്‍, കലിച്ചി, കര്‍ക്കിടോത്തി, കൊടുവാളന്‍, വീരമ്പി, വേടന്‍, കാലന്‍, ഗളിഞ്ചന്‍, മറുത, കന്നി, ഓണത്താര്‍, ഓണേശ്വരന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ തെയ്യങ്ങളും കാര്‍ഷിക സംസ്ക്കാരത്തിന്റെ ഓര്‍മ്മകള്‍ ഉണര്‍ത്തുന്ന തെയ്യങ്ങളാണ്‌
സമൃദ്ധമായ വിളവു ലഭിക്കാന്‍ പൂര്‍വികന്മാര്‍ ഓരോ ദേവതയെ സങ്കല്‍പ്പിച്ച് ആരാധിച്ചിരുന്നു. വയല്‍ദേവതയായ കുറത്തിയമ്മയെ തന്റെ വെറ്റിലകൃഷി കാക്കുന്ന ഭരമെല്‍പ്പിച്ച ഭക്തനായിരുന്നുവത്രേ മണിയറചന്തു. നേര്‍ പെങ്ങള്‍ ഉണ്ണങ്ങ വിലക്ക് ലംഘിച്ച് വെറ്റില നുള്ളിയതിനു കുറത്തിയമ്മ അവളുടെ ഉയിരെടുത്ത് ദൈവക്കോലമാക്കിയത്രെ. ആ തെയ്യമാണ്‌ വേലന്‍മാര്‍ കെട്ടിയാടുന്ന മണിയറ ഉണ്ണങ്ങ. കന്നുകാലികളെ പരിപാലിക്കാന്‍ കാലിച്ചേകോന്‍ തെയ്യവും പുനം കൃഷി നോക്കാന്‍ കൊടുവാളന്‍ തെയ്യവും സദാ ജാഗരൂകരായി ഉണ്ട്. തെയ്യത്തിനുള്ള ഉണക്കലരിയുണ്ടാക്കാന്‍ നെല്ലുകുത്തുന്നതിനിടയില്‍ അപമൃത്യു നേടിയ മുസ്ലിം വനിതയാണ്‌ നേത്യാരമ്മ തെയ്യം. തൊടിയിലെ പ്ലാവില്‍ നിന്ന് കാരണവരുടെ സമ്മതം ചോദിക്കാതെ ചക്കയിട്ടതിനു ജീവന്‍ കൊടുക്കേണ്ടി വന്ന അന്തര്‍ജ്ജനത്തിന്റെ കഥയാണ് മനയില്‍പ്പോതി യുടേത്.

The deities associated with agriculture are called Urvara deities.
Kalichekon, Uchar Theiyam (Pulitheiyam) and Godavari (Kotamuri) are the Urvara deities. Kalichekon of the Vannans is the cowherd and Kalichekon of the Pulayas is the deity who descended from Kailasa. Apart from this, Kurathi, Torakarathi, Kalyan, Kalichi, Karkitothi, Koduvalan, Veerambi, Vedan, Kalan, Galinchan, Maruta, Kanni, Onathar and Oneswaran are also theyas that evoke the memories of agricultural culture.
The ancestors worshiped each deity conceptually to ensure a bountiful harvest. Maniarachantu was a devotee who entrusted Kurathiamma, the goddess of the fields, with the protection of his betel plantation. Her sister-in-law broke the unnanga ban and pinched a betel leaf, so Kurathiamma resurrected her and turned her into a stick of god. That theiya is the maniyara unnanga that the velans are tying. Kalichekon Theiyam to take care of the cattle and Koduvalan Theiyam to look after the crops are ever vigilant. Netyaramma Theiyam is a Muslim woman who died while threshing paddy to make dried rice for Theiyam. Manailpothi is the story of Antharjanam, who had to give his life for chewing gum from his chest without asking the consent of his parents.
