യുദ്ധ ദേവതകള്‍:
കാളി, ചാമുണ്ഡി, ഭഗവതി എന്നീ വിഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍പ്പെട്ട പല ദേവതകളും അസുര കുലാന്തകിമാരാണെന്നത് പോലെ തന്നെ ഭൂമിയിലുള്ള പല വഴക്കുകളിലും പങ്കെടുത്തവരാണ് എന്നാണു വിശ്വാസം. അങ്കകുളങ്ങര ഭഗവതി, രക്ത ചാമുണ്ഡി, ചൂളിയാര്‍ ഭഗവതി, മൂവാളം കുഴിചാമുണ്ഡി, ഒറവങ്കര ഭഗവതി എന്നീ സ്ത്രീ ദേവതകളും ക്ഷേത്രപാലകന്‍, വൈരജാതന്‍, വേട്ടയ്ക്കൊരു മകന്‍, പട വീരന്‍, വിഷ്ണുമൂര്‍ത്തി തുടങ്ങിയ പുരുഷ ദേവതകളും ഇങ്ങിനെ പടകളില്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തവരാണത്രെ!!
ഉറഞാട്ടത്തിന്റെ ഒരു ഘട്ടത്തില്‍ പന്നിമുഖം വെച്ച് ആടുന്ന തെയ്യങ്ങളാണ്‌ ചാമുണ്ഡി തെയ്യങ്ങളായ മടയില്‍ ചാമുണ്ഡി, കുണ്ടോറ ചാമുണ്ഡി, കരിമണല്‍ ചാമുണ്ഡി, ചാമുണ്ഡി (വിഷ്ണുമൂര്‍ത്തി) എന്നിവയൊക്കെ. അത് കൊണ്ട് ഇവരെ മൃഗദേവതകളുടെ ഗണത്തിലും പെടുത്താവുന്നതാണ്.

Female deities like Ankakulangara Bhagavathy, Rakta Chamundi, Chuliar Bhagavathy, Moovalam Kuchichamundi, Oravankara Bhagavathy and male deities like temple guardian, Vairajata, son of the hunter, Pata Veeran, Vishnumurthy etc. participated in the processions!!
Chamundi Theiyams such as Madail Chamundi, Kundora Chamundi, Karimanal Chamundi and Chamundi (Vishnumurthy) are theyas that swing with a pig's face during a stage of sleep. Because of that, they can also be included in the category of animal deities.
