മരക്കല ദേവതകള്‍:
ആരിയര്‍ നാട് തുടങ്ങിയ അന്യ ദേശങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്ന് മരക്കലം വഴി ഇവിടെ ദേവതകള്‍ എത്തിചേര്‍ന്നിട്ടുണ്ടെന്നാണ് വിശ്വാസം. അത്തരം മരക്കല ദേവതകളില്‍ ചിലത് തെയ്യാട്ടത്തില്‍ കാണാം. ആര്യപൂങ്കന്നി, ആര്യപൂമാല, ആര്യയ്ക്കര ഭഗവതി, ആയിറ്റി ഭഗവതി, ഉചൂളിക്കടവത്ത് ഭഗവതി, ശ്രീശൂല കുമാരിയമ്മ (മരക്കലത്തമ്മ), ചുഴലി ഭഗവതി എന്നിവര്‍ ദേവിമാരും വില്ലാപുരത്ത് അസുരാളന്‍ ദൈവം, വടക്കേന്‍ കോടിവീരന്‍, പൂമാരുതന്‍, ബപ്പിരിയന്‍, എന്നിവര്‍ പുരുഷ ദേവന്മാരാണ്.
Carpenter Goddesses:
It is believed that the deities have arrived here from other lands like the Arya land through the wooden vessel.
Some of such wooden deities can be found in Theyattam. Aryapoonganni, Aryapoomala, Aryaikkara Bhagavathy, Ayiti Bhagavathy, Uchulikadavath Bhagavathy, Srishula Kumariamma (Marakalatamma) and Chujali Bhagavathy are the goddesses and Villapuram is the Asuralan God, Vadaken Kodiveeran, Poomaruthan and Bapiriya are the male deities.
