കരുവന്തോടു ഭഗവതി
ഈ തെയ്യം ആദിപരാശക്തിയുടെ (മാതാവിന്റെ) പ്രകടനമാണ്. അവളുടെ തീവ്ര ഭക്തരെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ അവൾ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുകയും അവൾക്ക് ഒരു ആരാധനാലയമോ ആരൂഢമോ നൽകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അവളുടെ അനുഗ്രഹം ലഭിക്കുന്നതിനും ശാന്തതയും ശാന്തതയും നിലനിർത്തുന്നതിനുമായി പ്രതിവർഷം ഒരു തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നു.

This Theyam is a manifestation of Adiparashakti (Mother).
She appears to protect her ardent devotees and provides her with a shrine or arudha. A Theiyam is tied annually to seek her blessings and maintain peace and tranquility.
Karuvantho Bhagavathy Theyam is worshiped to gain success and overcome various fears. She blesses her children with peace, prosperity and fertility. She is worshiped for good health and warding off infectious diseases.
Matamangalam Area Alakode Kanjirangatan Tharavad Devasthanam Temple, Matamangalam Vellora Kannangat Bhagavathy Temple (February 1st to February 4th) and Peringom Kannangat Bhagavathy Kav Temple (January 5th to January 8th) are the main holy places where theyam is held.
