KELAN THEYYAM കേളന്‍ തെയ്യം:
കണ്ടനാര്‍ കേളന്‍ തെയ്യവും ഈ കേളന്‍ തെയ്യവും തമ്മില്‍ ഒരു ബന്ധവുമില്ല.
തളിപ്പറമ്പിനടുത്ത നരിക്കോട് നാട്ടിലെ പെരുമനയായ നരിക്കോട്ട് മനയിലെ കാര്യസ്ഥനായിരുന്നു കേളന്‍ നായര്‍. വിളിച്ചാല്‍ വിളി കേള്‍ക്കാത്ത പുലയ നിലങ്ങളും, എണ്ണിയാലോടുങ്ങാത്ത ഭൂസ്വത്തും പ്രൌഡിയും പ്രാമാണ്യവും ഉള്ള ആ തറവാട്ടിലെ നൂറു കൂട്ടം പണികള്‍ വളരെ അനായാസമായി കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തിരുന്ന കേളന്‍ നായര്‍ മനക്കാര്‍ക്കും മനയിലെ കാക്കതൊണ്ണൂറു അടിയാന്‍മാര്‍ക്കും പ്രിയങ്കരനായിരുന്നു. ഒരു ദിവസം സന്ധ്യക്ക് വയലിലിറങ്ങിയ കേളനെ പിന്നെയാരും കണ്ടില്ല. എന്നാല്‍ കേളന്‍ എന്നും കയ്യിലേന്തുമായിരുന്ന വെള്ളി കെട്ടിയ ചെറുവടി വയലോരത്ത് അനാഥമായി കണ്ടെത്തിയത് ആരോ വിവരമറിയിച്ചു. തുടര്‍ന്ന്‍ ദുര്‍നിമിത്തങ്ങള്‍ ഒഴിയാതെ വന്നതിനാല്‍ കണിയാനെത്തി കവിടി നിരത്തി പറഞ്ഞു ഫലിത പ്രിയക്കാരനായിരുന്ന കേളന്‍ ഗുരുക്കള്‍ ദൈവ നിയോഗം കൊണ്ട് ഇപ്പോള്‍ ദൈവക്കരുവായിരിക്കുന്നു. അങ്ങിനെ നരിക്കോട്ട് മനയുടെ കന്നിരാശിയില്‍ കേളനെ കേളന്‍ തെയ്യമായി കേട്ടിയാടിക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങി.
