മണികുണ്ടൻ തെയ്യം

ശിവഭൂതമെന്ന സങ്കൽപ്പത്തിൽ കെട്ടിയാടിക്കുന്ന ഒരു വണ്ണാൻ കോലമാണ് വനദേവത സങ്കൽപ്പത്തിലുള്ള മണിക്കുണ്ടൻ തെയ്യം. 

കേരളത്തിലെ കണ്ണൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ പാച്ചേനി ശ്രീ മടയിൽ ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലും (ഫെബ്രുവരി 6, ഫെബ്രുവരി 7) നരിക്കോട്  ഏഴോം മടയിൽ കോട്ടം  ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലും (ഫെബ്രുവരി 1, ഫെബ്രുവരി 2) എല്ലാ വർഷവും മണികുണ്ടൻ  തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നു.

Manikundan Theyam

It is male Theiya and is associated with folklore.

According to Manikundan Theyat’s story, he performed miracles to help the family members of an important person and people of the area. He was given a place of worship and a Theiyam was tied annually to receive blessings.

Manikundan Theyam is performed every year at Bhagavathy Temple (February 6 and February 7) at Patcheni Sri Mada in Kannur district of Kerala and at Kottam Temple at Narikode Ezhom Mada (February 1 and February 2).
