മോന്തി കോലം / നെല്ലുകുത്തി പോതി
കുണ്ടോറപ്പൻറെ ദാസിയായ ദേവിയാണ് മോന്തിക്കോലം. കുണ്ടോറ ചാമുണ്ഡിയുടെ പരിവാരദേവതയാണ്. ഈ തെയ്യം നെല്ലുകുത്തി പോതി എന്ന പേരിലും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.
ദാരികാസുരനും കാളിയും തമ്മിലുള്ള ഘോര യുദ്ധത്തിൽ വിജയം വരിക്കാൻ കഴിയാതെ വന്ന കാളി ഷീണം തീർക്കാനെന്നോണം പോർക്കളം വിടുകയും ദേവിയുടെ മുന്നിൽ ദുർഗാ ദേവി പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെട്ടു ബ്രഹ്മദേവനെ തപസ്സ് ചെയ്ത ദാരികൻ സ്വന്തമാക്കിയ മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ നില നിൽക്കുന്നിടത്തോളം കാലം ദാരികനെ വധിക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ലെന്ന് ദേവിയെ അറിയിച്ചു. എന്നാൽ ഈ മൂല മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ ദാരികന്റെ പത്നിയായ മനോദരിക്കറിയാമെന്നും അറിയിച്ചു. ഈ മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ മൂന്നാമതൊരു കാത്തിലെത്തിയാൽ മാത്രമേ നിർവീര്യമാവുകയുള്ളൂ എന്നും ദേവി അറിയിച്ചു. അങ്ങിനെ ഈ മൂല മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ കരസ്ഥമാക്കാൻ ദുർഗാ ദേവി ദാസിയുടെ വേഷത്തിൽ ദാരികന്റെ കോട്ടയിലെത്തി. എന്നാൽ ഇക്കാര്യം മനോദാരിക്ക് മനസ്സിലായതേയില്ല. ദേവിയുടെ നിരന്തരമായ ആവശ്യങ്ങൾക്ക് മുന്നിൽ മനോദാരി ഈ മൂല മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ ദേവിക്ക് പറഞ്ഞു കൊടുക്കുന്നു. മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ കരസ്ഥമാക്കിയ ദുർഗാ ദേവി ഉടൻ തന്നെ കാളി ദേവിയുടെ അടുത്തു എത്തുകയും മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ ദേവിക്ക് കൈമാറുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. ഇതോടെ മന്ത്രങ്ങൾ നിർവീര്യമാവുകയും ദേവി ദാരികനുമായി ഏറ്റുമുട്ടുകയും കൊലപ്പെടുത്തുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.
ദാരിക വധത്തിൽ കാളിക്ക് സഹായി ആയി എത്തിയ ദുര്ഗാദേവിയുടെ സങ്കൽപ്പത്തിൽ കെട്ടിയാടുന്ന കൊളമാണ് മോന്തി കോലം. ദാസി വേഷം ധരിച്ചു ദാരികന്റെ കോട്ടയിലെത്തി മന്ത്രം കൈക്കലാക്കിയ കഥ തന്നെയാണ് ഇതിന്നാധാരവും. കുണ്ടോറ ചാമുണ്ഡിയുടെ പരിവാര ദേവതയായ ഈ തെയ്യത്തിന്റെ പ്രധാന ചടങുകളിൽ ഒന്ന് നെല്ല് കുത്തുന്നതാണ് അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ഈ തെയ്യം നെല്ലുകുത്തി പൊതി എന്ന പേരിലും അറിയപ്പെടുന്നു.

Monthi Kolam / Nellu Kuthi Pothi Theyyam
Montikolam is Kundorappan's maidservant goddess.
Kundora is the attendant deity of Chamundi. This Theyam is also known as Nellukuthi Pothi.
Unable to win the fierce battle between Darikasura and Kali, Kali left Porkalam to relieve her fatigue and Goddess Durga appeared in front of the goddess and informed the goddess that as long as the mantras acquired by Darika who had done penance on Lord Brahma remained intact, Darika could not be killed. But it was also informed that Darika's wife Manodari knew these root mantras. Devi also informed that these mantras will become ineffective only if they reach a third ear. Thus Goddess Durga came to Darika's fort in the guise of a maid to acquire these Moola Mantras. But Manodari did not understand this. Manodari recites these root mantras to the Goddess in response to her constant demands. After acquiring the mantras, Goddess Durga immediately approaches Goddess Kali and hands over the mantras to Goddess. With this the mantras are neutralized and Devi confronts and kills Darikan.
Monti Kolam is a kolam tied to the concept of Goddess Durga who came to help Kali in killing Darika. It is based on the story of Darikan's fort disguised as a maid and took the mantra. One of the main rituals of this Theiyam, which is the attendant deity of Kundora Chamundi, is threshing of paddy and that is why this Theiyam is also known as Nellukthi Pothi.
