അയ്യങ്കര ഇല്ലത്തെ വാണവരുടെ പത്നിയായ പാടികുറ്റിയമ്മയാണ് മൂലം പെറ്റ ഭഗവതി എന്ന ഒരു വിശ്വാസം നിലനിൽക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. മുത്തപ്പൻ കുന്നത്തൂർ പാടിയിൽ വരുന്നതിനു മുമ്പേ സ്ഥലവാസികളുടെ ആരാധനമൂർത്തിയായിരുന്നു ഈ ഭഗവതിയെന്നും വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. സൗമ്യ മൂർത്തിയായി നിലകൊള്ളുന്ന ഭദ്രകാളിയാണ് മൂലം പെറ്റഭഗവതി എന്നും മുത്തപ്പൻ പാടിയിൽ എത്തിയപ്പോൾ സന്തോഷപൂർവ്വം എതിരേറ്റുവെന്നും പുത്രനെപോലെ സ്വീകരിക്കുകയും ചെയ്തത്രെ.ഈ ദേവത വനദുർഗ്ഗയാണെന്നും എരുവേശിദേശത്തെ ദേശദേവതയായ പാടികുറ്റി ഭഗവതിയാണെന്നും മറ്റൊരു ഐതിഹ്യവും നിലവിൽ ഉണ്ട്.
തെയ്യരൂപം മുളയും നാരും കൊണ്ട് ഗോപുരാകൃതിയിൽ കെട്ടിയെടുത്ത് മലവാഴയിലകൊണ്ട് പൊതിഞ്ഞുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന പച്ച നിറത്തിൽ മനോഹരമായ തിരു മുടിയാണ് മൂലം പെറ്റ ഭഗവതി അണിയുക.
പാടിക്കുറ്റി അമ്മ:
മുത്തപ്പന്‍ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അമ്മയാണ് പാടിക്കുറ്റിയമ്മ എന്ന് വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. മൂലംപെറ്റ ഭഗവതിയായും കൊട്ടിയൂരമ്മയായും ഈ ദേവത ആരാധിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു. വളരെ നാളുകളോളം മുത്തപ്പനെ പോറ്റി വളര്ത്തി യത് ഇവരാണ്. അത് കൊണ്ട് തന്നെ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ സ്ഥാനം പാടിക്കുറ്റിയമ്മക്ക് ലഭിക്കുന്നു. പറശ്ശിനിക്കടവിനടുത്ത കോടല്ലൂരിലെ പാലപ്രം ക്ഷേത്രത്തിലാണ് പാടിക്കുറ്റിയമ്മയുടെ തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നത്‌. മീനമാസത്തിലാണ് ഇവിടെ ഈ തെയ്യം അരങ്ങേറുന്നത്. എരുവശ്ശിയിലെ ശ്രീ പാടിക്കുറ്റി മഹാദേവി ക്ഷേത്രമാണ്‌ മറ്റൊരു പേരുകേട്ട ക്ഷേത്രം.

Moolampetta Bhagavathi Theyam / Paadikuttiyamma Theyyam
There is a belief that Moolampetta Bhagavathy is the wife of Iyenkara Illam Vanavas due to Patikutiyamma, the wife of Iyenkara Illam Vanavas.
It is also believed that this Bhagavathy was the idol of the people of the place before Muttappan Kunnathur came to Pati. It is Bhadrakali, who stands as Soumya Murti, who is Peta Bhagavathy and who was happily welcomed by her grandfather when he arrived at Pati. There is another legend that this goddess is Vana Durga and Patikutty Bhagavathy is the national goddess of Eruveshi land. The tea form is made of bamboo and fiber tied into a gopura shape and covered with banana leaves, a beautiful green colored tiru hair is worn by Vula Peta Bhagwati.
Pathikuttiyamma Theyyam:
Pathikutiyamma is believed to be the mother of Grandfather God.
This goddess is worshiped as Bhagavathy and Kotiuramma. They are the ones who raised my grandfather for a long time. Because of that, Patikkuthiyama gets the place of God. Patikkuthiamma's Theiyam is enshrined in the Palapram temple at Kotallur near Parasshinikadu. This Theyam takes place here in the month of Pisces. Another famous temple is Sri Patikutty Mahadevi Temple in Eruvassi.
