മുത്തച്ചൻദൈവം 

ഈ പ്രദേശത്ത് താമസിച്ചിരുന്ന ഒരാളുടെ തെയ്യമാണിത്, നാടോടിക്കഥകളെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ളതാണ് കഥ. മുത്തച്ചൻ  തെയ്യത്തിന്റെ കഥ ഈ പ്രദേശത്തെ സഹായിക്കുന്ന ദേവതയാണ്, ഒരു കുടുംബം തന്റെ നിസ്വാർത്ഥമായ  പ്രവർത്തനത്തിലൂടെ ദൈവകരോ വിശുദ്ധനോ ആയിത്തീരുന്നു. വ്യക്തിക്ക് ഒരു ആരാധനാലയം നൽകുകയും വർഷം  തോറും  അവന്റെ  സ്മരണയ്ക്കായി തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു.

ശാന്തമായ ഒരു തെയ്യമാണ് മുത്തച്ചൻ ദൈവം. അതുല്യമായ ശിരോവസ്ത്രവും രൂപവുമുണ്ട്.

തെയ്യം തന്റെ ഭക്തി നിമിത്തം ദേവസ്ഥാനം പ്രാപിച്ചതായും ദേവിയെ ദർശിച്ചതിന് ശേഷം ആണെന്നും വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്നു.

കണ്ണൂർ ജില്ലയിലെ കരിവെള്ളൂർ കൂളിക്കാവ് ശ്രീ വിഷ്ണുമൂർത്തി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ (ഡിസംബർ 23 മുതൽ ഡിസംബർ 24 വരെ) എല്ലാ വർഷവും മുത്തച്ചൻ ദൈവത്തെ തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നു.

The story of Grandfather Theiyat is the deity who helps the region and a family becomes gods or saints through his selfless work. A shrine is given to the person and theyam is tied annually in his memory.

Grandfather God is a calm Theiya. It has a unique headdress and appearance.

It is believed that Theyam attained the Devasthanam due to his devotion and after seeing the Goddess.

At Karivellur Koolikav Shree Vishnumurthy Temple in Kannur district (December 23 to December 24) every year Grandfather worships the deity.
