പലയകോട് ഭഗവതി
പലയകോട് ഭഗവതി തെയ്യത്തിന്റെ കഥ പ്രകാരം, അവൾ അസുരന്മാരെ തോൽപ്പിക്കാൻ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുകയും ക്രൂരമായ രൂപത്തിൽ തുടരുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. തുടർന്ന് പ്രദേശത്തെ ഒരു തറവാടിൽ അവളെ കാണുകയും ആരാധനാലയം നൽകുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. അവൾ പ്രദേശത്തെ ജനങ്ങളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. അവളുടെ ശാന്തതയ്ക്കും അവളുടെ അനുഗ്രഹത്തിനും വേണ്ടി അവളുടെ ബഹുമാനാർത്ഥം വർഷം തോറും ഒരു തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നു.

കൂറ്റൻ തിരുമുടി (ശിരോവസ്ത്രം) കൊണ്ട് ഉഗ്രമായ രൂപമാണ് തെയ്യത്തിനുള്ളത്. തെയ്യത്തിൽ വാളും പരിചയും ഉണ്ട്.

She is then found and worshiped at a tribal house in the area. She protects the people of the area. A Theiyam is tied annually in her honor for her serenity and her blessings.
Theyam is prayed for overcoming various diseases, protection of crops and livestock and victory over enemies.
Theyya has a fierce look with massive tirumudi (headgear).
There is a sword and a shield in Theyyat.
