പന്നിക്കൂര്‍ ചാമുണ്ഡി
വരാഹി അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പന്നി സങ്കൽപത്തെ അടിസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ള തെയ്യമാണിത്. പന്നിക്കൂർ ചാമുണ്ഡി തെയ്യം കഥയനുസരിച്ച്, മഹാദേവ ശിവൻ ഒരു യജ്ഞം നടത്തുകയും അതിൽ നിന്ന് ഏഴ് ദേവതകൾ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്തു. യജ്ഞത്തിൽ നിന്ന് പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെട്ട ദേവതകളിൽ ഒരാളായിരുന്നു പന്നിക്കൂർ ചാമുണ്ഡി. തെയ്യം പിന്നീട് പ്രദേശത്തെ ഒരു പ്രമുഖ തറവാടിന്റെ തലവന്റെ മുന്നിലെത്തി. അനാരോഗ്യത്തിൽ നിന്നും ഭൂതങ്ങളിൽ നിന്നും അവൾ കുടുംബത്തെ സംരക്ഷിക്കുന്നു. അമാനുഷിക ജീവികളാൽ ആക്രമിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന കന്നുകാലികളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാൻ അവൾ പ്രത്യക്ഷപ്പെടുന്നു. അവളെ ശാന്തയാക്കാനും നാശം വരുത്താതിരിക്കാനും അവൾക്ക് ഒരു ആരൂഢമോ ആരാധനാലയമോ നൽകി. അവളുടെ സന്തോഷവും സന്തോഷവും നിലനിർത്താനും അനുഗ്രഹം തേടാനും വർഷം തോറും ഒരു തെയ്യം കെട്ടിയാടുന്നു.
ഈ മൂര്‍ത്തി ശാന്തതയും രൌദ്രഭാവവും ഒരേ പോലെ പ്രകടിപ്പിക്കുന്ന മൂര്‍ത്തിയാണ്. ശാന്ത രൂപത്തില്‍ നൃത്തം തുടങ്ങി രൌദ്ര ഭാവം കൈക്കൊള്ളുകയാണ്‌ ചെയ്യുക. നൃത്തത്തിന്റെ മൂര്ദ്ദന്യത്തില്‍ ഭക്തരുടെ നേര്‍ക്ക് ഓടി അടുക്കുകയും അലറി ബഹളം വയ്ക്കുകയും മുടി കൊണ്ട് അടിക്കുകയും ഒക്കെ ചെയ്യും. ഇതെല്ലാം കഴിഞ്ഞ ശേഷം ശാന്തമായിരുന്ന്‍ ഭക്തര്‍ക്ക് അനുഗ്രഹം കൊടുക്കുകയും ചെയ്യും.
മലയന്‍, വേലന്‍, മാവിലന്‍, കോപ്പാളന്‍, പമ്പത്താര്‍ എന്നീ ജാതിക്കാരാണ് ഈ തെയ്യം കെട്ടുന്നത്. ചില കാവുകളില്‍ ദേവിക്ക് പ്രതീകാത്മകമായി മൃഗ ബലി നടത്താറുണ്ട്‌. രുദ്ര മിനുക്ക്‌ എന്നാണു പന്നിക്കൂര്‍ ചാമുണ്ഡിയുടെ മുഖത്തെഴുത്തിന് പറയുക.
കാസർകോട് കാഞ്ഞങ്ങാട് പുല്ലൂർ കൊടവലം മഹാവിഷ്ണു ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നവംബർ 17 മുതൽ 18 വരെ ഈ തെയ്യത്തിന് ദർശനം നടത്താം.
Pannikur Chamundi
This is a theory based on the Varahi or pig concept.
According to the Pannikur Chamundi Theyam story, Mahadeva Shiva performed a yajna from which seven deities appeared. Pannikur Chamundi was one of the deities who appeared from the yajna. Theyam then went before the head of a prominent clan in the area. She protects the family from ill health and demons. She appears to protect herds from being attacked by supernatural beings. She was given an arudha or shrine to pacify her and keep her from causing harm. A Theyam is tied annually to maintain her joy and happiness and to seek blessings.
This murti is a murti that expresses serenity and rudrabhava alike. Start dancing in a calm form and then take a violent form. At the height of the dance, they run towards the devotees, shout and beat them with their hair. After all this he will bless the devotees who remain calm.
Malayan, Velan, Mavilan, Kopalan and Pambatar castes tie this Theiyam.
